Heat Pump Terms and Conditions

The following terms apply to standard back-to-back heat pump installations supplied and installed by Chris Odlum Electrical Ltd.

What Is A Back-to-Back Installation?

A back-to-back installation is where the indoor unit is mounted on an exterior wall and the outdoor unit is positioned directly behind the indoor unit on the outside of the building.

The outdoor unit will typically be mounted on a wall bracket or installed on a suitable PVC mounting slab, depending on site conditions and installation requirements.

Pricing and Quotations

All advertised pricing, package deals and promotional offers are indicative only and subject to a site inspection.

A written quotation will be provided following assessment of the property. Pricing is not confirmed until a written quotation has been issued and accepted by both parties.

Standard Installation Inclusions

  • Supply and installation of the nominated heat pump system
  • Standard back-to-back installation
  • Up to 4 metres of refrigeration pipework between indoor and outdoor units
  • Up to 18 metres of electrical cabling from the switchboard or suitable existing circuit
  • Standard wall penetration and weatherproof sealing
  • Electrical connection, testing and commissioning
  • System setup and customer demonstration upon completion

Access Requirements

  • Single-storey residential dwellings
  • Safe and unobstructed access to all work areas
  • Suitable mounting locations for indoor and outdoor units
  • Adequate roof space and/or underfloor access where required

Multi-storey installations, difficult access, roof work, scaffolding requirements or other access restrictions may incur additional charges.

Electrical Requirements

The property’s electrical installation must be suitable for connection of the new heat pump system.

Where switchboard upgrades, additional protection devices, dedicated circuits or remedial electrical work are required, these works will be quoted separately unless specifically included within the quotation.

Additional Costs

  • Pipework exceeding 4 metres
  • Electrical cabling exceeding 18 metres
  • Additional drainage requirements
  • Decorative trunking or ducting requests
  • Switchboard upgrades
  • Building alterations
  • Difficult access requirements
  • Unsafe or non-compliant existing electrical installations

Any additional work identified during installation will be discussed with the customer and approved before proceeding.

Wi-Fi and Smart Controls

Wi-Fi control modules, smart home integration and remote-control functionality are not included unless specifically stated within the quotation.

Travel

Standard pricing applies to installations located within 20 kilometres of Te Awamutu. Additional travel charges may apply outside this area.

Warranty

Manufacturer warranties apply to all equipment supplied.

Chris Odlum Electrical Ltd warrants workmanship in accordance with New Zealand consumer legislation.

Warranty does not cover misuse, lack of maintenance, accidental damage, power supply abnormalities, weather events, vermin, corrosion or alterations carried out by others after installation.

Payment Terms

A deposit of 50% of the quoted amount is required prior to commencement of work.

The remaining balance is payable upon completion of the installation or within 7 days of invoice date unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Acceptance

Acceptance of a quotation constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.

These terms apply to standard residential back-to-back heat pump installations. Commercial installations, multi-unit projects, difficult-access installations and custom heat pump systems may be subject to additional site-specific terms and conditions and will be outlined within the project quotation where applicable.
